Ypatingas Burys

Ypatingas Burys (The Lithuanian Death Squad) was a group consisting of 200 Lithuanian thugs. Between them they murdered almost 100 000 Jews in the Vilnius region. Their killing fields were the Panerai Forest and the graves of their victims were the oil trneches dug by the Russians.

When they ran out of Jews to kill they left for neighbouring countries to hunt there.

After Lithuania gained independance from Russia in 1991, only three war criminals were put on trial. Two were found guilty, but as yet are still to be punished.
